Leviathan Mark II - Materov Competition ROV
Award-Winning, Cost-Efficient Underwater Robotics
The Bangalore Bullsharks made history as the first Indian team to compete in the Ranger category of the MATE ROV Competition 2025. Without major sponsors or institutional backing, we relied on innovation and sheer determination. From waterproofing everyday โน800 servo motors instead of using imported $300 waterproof variants, to performing 500+ buoyancy modifications and 30 full-day trials, our ROV embodied resourcefulness. Featuring a cubical frame, dual cameras, custom hook, and waterproofed 3D-printed servo-powered arms, the bot prioritized cost-efficiency, environmental responsibility, and practical design. Our efforts were recognized by the U.S. Navy with a prestigious Challenge Coin and a promise of mentorship to grow the ROV ecosystem in India.
